Riscone in Val Pusteria
The ideal destination for your holiday in South Tyrol/ Alto Adige
The little town of Riscone is part of Brunico, the only city in Val Pusteria. It is located on a plateau just above Brunico (2 km) at an altitude of 956 m and has about 1.300 inhabitants.
The town never let guests lack for anything. From the Valley Station, it is possible to take ski lifts carrying to Plan de Corones, one of the best ski areas in South Tyrol, which is also part of the Dolomiti Superski. The cable car is functioning both during summer and during winter and enables to reach a panoramic platform with a 360-degree view. The Alps of Zillertal, Vedrette of Ries-Aurina and the Dolomites are just some of the mountains that can be admired from Plan de Corones. Here is situated the Peace Bell/Campana della Pace and during winter this is the start point of more than 100 km pistes, supported by 32 ski lifts. During summer, Plan de Corones becomes a real paradise for excursions and mountain bike tours.
The town offers also many shopping possibilities and various restaurants with high quality dishes, from traditional Tyrolean to international cuisine. Riscone has also an important sports center that already hosted some professional soccer teams of Italian Serie A. In this sports center you will find a nine-hole golf course, a riding stable, a football field, a tennis court and the well-equipped swimming pool Cron 4 with indoor and outdoor heated pool, saunas and wellness and relaxation areas.
Beyond traditional celebrations, we advise to visit some nearby interesting museums, as the South Tyrolean Folklore Museum in Teodone or the Ripa Messner Mountain Museum dedicated to mountain people.
